Classic and Muscle cars are a great investment, they will never be cheaper than right now with the USA deep in global financial crisis and the Australian dollar near an all time high.
Compare spending $50k on a new car, 2 years later it's worth maybe half, buy a classic car and every year it increases in value, plus it's great fun to add value to it and use it.
Some people buy art with super funds, and enjoy the art plus get a return on investment. Classic cars can be the same.
The USA is exporting Classic and Muscle cars at high volume, they will soon become scarce at that rate.
The USA Goverment has introduced a new plan to increase new car sales by providing cash for clunkers, they give a $4500 rebate on old cars and destroy them. To date at least 3 billion dollars has been spent, that's over 666,000 cars recycled for scrap.
The popularity in Australia of Classic cars can be seen at car shows with most at maximum capacity now.
